When IT departments do anything from a routine software upgrade to purchasing new hardware they must consider more than purchase and installation costs. IT staff should also schedule formal training sessions to ensure teachers and administrators are comfortable with new technologies. Staff needs to understand why the new technology was implemented and how it's used in order to achieve ROI. This advice applies to any new purchase or installation whether it be SMART Boards, projectors, document cameras, or a control and automation system complete with a touch panel.
