Samsung Announces the Galaxy Note 10 1

Samsung has announced the release of the Galaxy Note 10.1. The device is available for purchase in the U.S. beginning August 16th and it comes with a special offer for K-12 students.

The device offers a preloaded e-textbook format provided by the educational software company Kno. This will allow K-12 students to download thousands of e-textbooks they can store on their device and access on the go. The tablet will include a customized Barnes and Noble Nook app for reading. The Galaxy 10.1 also comes with the Social Sharing feature which allows students to annotate text and share those notes with teachers and classmates. The device also offers a fee two year subscription to Dropbox with 50GB of storage.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 includes the S Pen which allows students to easily highlight or annotate school documents and e-textbooks. The device is designed with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of internal RAM, a 5-megapixel main camera and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. Galaxy Note 10.1 will be available beginning Aug 16th nationwide at partners including Best Buy, Tiger Direct, HH Gregg, BrandSmart and Conn’s and Fry’s.

The device will be available in choice of white or dark gray, and with 16GB or 32GB of memory for $499 or $549 SRP, respectively. Available accessories include replacement S Pen, S Pen Holder Kit, Book Cover in Grey or White, Travel Charger, USB Connection Kit to allow usage of thumb drives or USB peripherals, HDMI adapter and Universal Desktop Dock.
