going to be as vital and commented, “What am I going to do with all of this free time?” However Jackson was seeing the potential of getting his cookie cutter rooms up and running quicker so that Aceves could turn his attention to programming “one-off” and more complicated rooms. While everyone realizes that there is no such thing as “free time” for the AV/IT department, this sure did give some pause.

RPM is a cloud-based configuration tool that allows A/V technicians and IT professionals to configure an AMX system by using a step-by-step, wizard-based approach. It is designed to help throughout the process, from start to finish, with no programming required.

The next day I caught up with Jackson at SMU (full video interview on first page), to get his opinion of RPM. He had signed up for a beta version of RPM and will be loading a DVX. He said, “If I can program, anyone can.” Although RPM doesn’t actually require programming knowledge, Jackson concedes that while he will now be able to design, configure and deploy his cookie cutter “AMX rooms,” he will still need the expertise of integrators for programing one-off rooms and more complicated systems.  TD End Icon Final 14 px
