The advancement of technology never stops, and the classroom tools that most of us remember as children have long since been discarded.

Even computers that not long ago were on the cutting edge can be found, if at all, simply collecting dust.

The advancements in education technology have been numerous. Here are a few that have been among the most dramatic.

Agreed to the list but wish there were 10 spots. The three major devices missing are: Networking (Ethernet or Wifi), Tele-presence/video collaboration and the latest Cloud integration. WiFi or ethernet revolutionized how instructor gets content from internet or server. Tele-presence allowed collaboration and distant learning or online classrooms. Recently Cloud computing is going to impact every phase of education devices. Tablets are great, but they are expensive compared to value their counter-parts Laptop or Macbook provide, proprietary with closed operating system and lack of real colloboration.
